On otticaIT.com you will find eyeglasses from the best brands.
We are all used to eyeglasses and many people wear them every day, their whole lives. For this reason, it is essential to choose the most suitable pair of eyeglasses for your needs and, above all, a frame capable of enhancing the characteristics of your face and gaze.
How to choose eyeglasses
Eyeglasses are a support used to correct common refractive errors in the eye, such as:
• Myopia
• Presbyopia
• Astigmatism
• Hyperopia
They are composed of prescription lenses and a frame, which can be made of different materials and colors.
A person who needs to wear eyeglasses has no choice: they must wear them every day, their whole life! This is why it becomes essential to follow the right advice to avoid mistakes in choosing and, above all, to identify a type of frame suitable for your face.
What are the most beautiful eyeglasses
The choice of eyeglasses, from an aesthetic point of view, ultimately depends solely and exclusively on the person who will wear them. It is not possible to define which is the most beautiful frame of all, nor does it have any objective value.
However, it is possible to follow some general tips to guide you through the different frame shapes available on the market today.
Rectangular eyeglasses
This is certainly a very popular model of eyeglasses nowadays. It suits oval faces well, which are actually considered perfect faces and therefore accommodate any type of frame without problems. Rectangular or square frames, on the other hand, are essential for those with round, chubby faces, as they help to soften roundness.
Round eyeglasses
They are very trendy and original, and can also be assimilated, in terms of characteristics, to hexagonal frames. They suit those with rectangular faces and somewhat pronounced features. They are the ideal frame for those with a high forehead or a pointed chin, or generally a face that appears elongated.
Oval eyeglasses
There are many types of this kind of eyeglasses. From classic small glasses with thin metal temples to more pronounced frames, with the upper part more prominent than the lower part of the lens. Oval frames suit those with a so-called heart-shaped face (slightly elongated) or a square face, as long as the frames are not too small.
Butterfly eyeglasses
This is the classic frame for those with a triangle-shaped face, with a low forehead and less pronounced cheekbones but more marked features at the jawline.
What are the lightest eyeglasses
There is another aspect not to be underestimated when purchasing a new frame for eyeglasses, namely lightness. Those who need eyeglasses to correct significant visual deficits inevitably have to wear thick and therefore heavier lenses than normal. In this case, it is essential, when choosing the frame, to also consider this aspect.
Choosing a thick, substantial frame, perhaps in materials like wood or horn, could mean, once the lenses are added, ending up with a pair of heavy eyeglasses. Wearing them all day could become uncomfortable, and signs might start to appear on the bridge of the nose.
However, there is another aspect to consider: a thick lens (due to a high prescription) cannot be inserted into a frame that is too thin, for obvious support reasons (which would be precarious).
So, what is the right compromise between a light frame that is not so thin as to prevent the fitting of a lens with a high prescription?
The advice is to opt for innovative and ultralight materials that are also resistant and flexible.
The most common materials that eyeglasses are made of are:
• Bio-plastic, which is cellulose acetate, produced from renewable sources, without chemical agglomerates
• Titanium, the lightest material par excellence
• Wood, usually acacia, cherry, or walnut, in natural wood tones
• Horn, from water buffalo (Yak) with very particular color nuances
• Grilamid, a very impact-resistant and very lightweight nylon
